There were several nice properties on today’s roster, but the standout for me was 3422 Amesbury Rd. in Los Feliz. It’s a great look back at what life in the 1940s might have been like in those hallowed hills. The home is 2,822 SF perched on a 6,446 SF lot and boasts a decent yard and very inviting pool (I propose that bathing suits be this Summer’s caravan attire of choice. Who’s with me?). What strikes me most about this home is the preservation of original features that pepper the mini-estate. From the built-in vanities and untouched, remarkably well maintained bathrooms to the best room in the house- the den, this property is begging to be purchased by someone who can truly appreciate that the finer things in life way back when, were in fact “finer.”
The den harkens back to an era when entertaining was an art form and a casual evening with friends was always an elegant affair. No doubt many a roaring fire was the background for some serious shin-digs in this pad. The wood paneling and built in bar in this house could definitely tell some stories.
My suggestion is that you NOT buy this house unless you want to start drinking martinis and drink a lot of them! I have one in my hand right now.
